Each person has a unique facial structure and every diver experiences either some level of discomfort, or “pressure” and “squeeze” while wearing a typical mask underwater. TUSA engineers wanted to solve these problems and spent several years analysing mask fit, facial bone structure and mouth movement. The result is Freedom Technology, a set of revolutionary new mask features which deliver superior fit, comfort and increased performance.

The dimpled areas on the silicone skirt, positioned around the temple areas/ forehead/cheekbones, greatly improve the seal on the face and reduce the likelihood of possible leakages in these areas.  By utilising 'stability ridges' under the area around the lower cheekbones helps to minimise the compression associated with increased water pressure once again improving fit and comfort while ensuring maximum skin contact.

Incorporating varied thicknesses of silicone, with particular attention to the area around the mouth, to help combat the movement associated with using snorkel/regulator mouthpieces, once again reducing possible leakage by providing a better seal.

The Tusa Intega mask also features a rounded-edge skirt, a rolled edge on the outside of the skirt, resulting in a soft-fit suppressing pressure and minimising any creasing left on the face. This “planar” fit, instead of “linear” fit silicone skirt maintains a great seal and unprecedented comfort.
